Kate Evans
Kate Evans is an English cartoonist, non-fiction writer and illustrator. Work with classic tools and decorate rough, detailed painting styles with watercolors to create simple yet powerful images across a wide range of subjects. She makes the real world more abstract, but easier to understand. Kate's work has a particularly organic feel, and publishers use it to convey the complex personalities of real-world locations in maps and images. Since 2000, Evans has produced a series of non-fiction graphic works on a variety of social and political themes. Food for love: Your formula for successful breastfeeding has popularized attachment parenting techniques. Evans went on to create and illustrate pregnancy and childbirth manuals. Won the 2016 John C. Lawrence Award from the Writers Guild and the 2017 Broken Frontiers Award for Non-fiction Graphics. In 2018, it became the first graphic fiction book to be nominated for the Orwell Prize.
