Magnus Voll Mathiasse
Magnus, who was born in Norway, has the gentle, austere and low-key personality of a Nordic man, but his work reveals another side of himself that is not known to many -- passionate, dynamic and full of personality. Magnus's work is based on portraits, using simple lines, large blocks of color and bold hues to depict the shadows and features of human faces, and using the splicing of color to express the contours and features of different faces. When these highly saturated patches bridge the eye and the brain, the characters and landscape become orderly and clear. These "fragile" memories, as Magnus calls them, become instantly firm and reliable under his scrutiny. He made his name at the Oslo Design Exhibition in 2014 and was invited to be one of seven international artists to collaborate with the Oscars in 2021. In order to express the concept of "mutual influence between film and audience", through chaotic and complex color blocks and lines, a colorful metal statuette full of impact.
