Vicky Yorke
Vicky Yorke is a British graphic designer and illustrator who works from her home studio in the Worcestershire countryside. She creates bright and fun designs that bring fun and warmth to everyday life. After graduating with a degree in illustration from Bournemouth College of Art in 2005, Vicky has worked with the UK high Street providing a wide range of stationery, crafts and homeware and other industries for retail brands. From trend forecasting to product sampling and even product management, all aspects of the product development process help Vicky understand what makes a great product. Unfortunately, in 2010 Vicky developed a chronic form of leukaemia called CML. So Vicky decided to set up her own company, where she could work at her own pace and comfort, while continuing to support herself and do work she loved. In 2012, Vicky Yorke Designs was born. Initially from a freelance designer, she created products for British commercial brands. As her health improved, Vicky decided to move to the countryside and expand her business into product licensing. Her hard work paid off in 2018 when she was named the overall champion of the Truly Good Greetings and gift design Search, according to industry-leading experts from around the world!<br /><br />
<br><br><br>Vicky uses illustration and typography combined with striking color palettes to create decorative, bright and inviting pieces. She is often inspired by the beautiful countryside, and these works include vibrant flowers and animals, travel patterns. Each design is hand-sketched or painted in her relaxed and fantastical style, then digitally colored, full of "adult whimsy." She deliberately separates "fancy" lines from broken textures to add personality and authenticity to her work. Vicky loves to mix and combine and can be used alone or in a range of products to create a fresh and eclectic look.<br /><br />
